Do you often dream of creating big, beautiful paintings but don't feel daring enough to bring them to life?
Maybe you...
Lack confidence or find it scary. Art journaling feels less intimidating because if you don’t love every page it’s okay. With a canvas, it feels so different.
That’s where creating ideas in the safe space of a journal before translating them to a canvas feels so comforting! When you have the concept of what you want to do, you’re halfway there!
Find you’re less courageous or willing to let go on the canvas because you’re afraid of ruining it. You tend to play it safe and not really push yourself as an artist.
Once again, that’s why experimenting and playing in an art journal helps, because you’re less precious about the results so you’ll take more chances and really develop your voice as an artist.
Feel uncomfortable expressing your emotions and being vulnerable on the canvas. It feels so public and ‘on display.’
I understand! Pour your heart out in the safety of your journal and let your imagination run wild. Then you get to choose which parts of yourself you want to share on a larger scale with the world on the canvas!
In this very special class, I share all my little secrets and show you how to draw courage and inspiration from your art journal pages to create a big, magical painting on a canvas.
Hi, I’m Laly Mille
When I started making art, I felt such a need to liberate my inner artist that I mostly wanted to paint on big canvases and fill every wall in my home with my own art! There’s something so magical and powerful in creating large paintings. But I soon realized that my heart also longed for a more intimate outlet that would allow me to freely explore, grow and find my unique voice as an artist.
That’s how I fell in love with art journaling, and I quickly found out that the two practices are a match made in heaven: they complete each other in amazing and surprising ways! I discovered that whenever I got stuck with a painting, or didn’t know where to start, I could turn to my art journal for an instant dose of courage and inspiration. I’d always find creative ideas in its pages, then bring them to life in a much bigger way.
This process has been a game-changer for me, helping me grow as an artist like never before. I can’t wait to share it with you in this very special class where you’ll watch my authentic, intimate process (including when I get stuck) while learning tons of my best creative tips and techniques!
what Students said:
“It was very helpful to watch you go through the thinking process as the painting evolved. I love how you present the material. It is very concise and explained in great detail. Thank you for sharing your talent. I am so glad that I decided to buy this class. It has really helped me grow as an artist and try new materials and techniques.”
— BECKY
“Laly, I wanted to let you know that I successfully did a “journal to canvas” series. I ended up doing two canvases and I chose one of them to show at an art exhibit last summer. It sold on the first day! I am considering showing the second one at a show sometime this year. It’s a testimonial that your teaching method works.”
— LINDA C.
“Laly has taught me what it means to be an artist, to take risks, to keep at it, to listen to my intuition and to work with my canvas to bring it to life. She gave me courage and permission to call myself an Artist and I thank her for that.”
— PATRICE E.

The Lessons
With more than 2 hours of video lessons, you’ll be right here with me in the studio as I create a big, super layered mixed media painting by drawing inspiration (and courage!) from my art journal.
You’ll be right by my side as I look for ideas, start my painting, get stuck, find solutions and start again, all the way to finishing touches!
Among many other tips and techniques, I’m going to show you how to...
Use a viewfinder to look for composition ideas inside your pages. Your next painting might be hiding in plain sight in your art journal!
Translate ideas for color schemes, collage, imagery, mark-making and more from your pages to your mixed media painting.
Be brave and challenge yourself to use ideas, colors and techniques you’ve experimented with in your art journal, and take a leap onto the canvas. In the lesson, you’ll see me play (and struggle) with red!
Use your art journal as a resource whenever you get stuck, combine inspiration from different pages into one painting, and find ideas that work in the journal to solve problems on your canvas!
In total, From Page to Canvas has around 2 hours of high-quality, step-by-step video lessons.
I show and explain everything in detail, and I encourage you to make the process yours and work with what you’ve got. If you've ever taken a class with me, you know I like to keep it clear and super inspiring!
The class is in English with English closed captions available.

Your Questions Answered
If you don’t find an answer below, don’t hesitate to reach out by email at admin@lalymille.com. My husband William & I will do our best to help!
I've never painted a big canvas before or don’t have much experience with art journaling and mixed media. Can I really do this class?
Yes and no: You don't need any experience painting on a canvas for this class, but to get the most out of the lessons, you'll need an art journal with at least a few pages done. If you haven't discovered the joy of art journaling yet, I highly recommend starting with my other class "The Artist & the Journal" (where you’ll also learn tons about mixed media.) Other than that, no previous skills required!
This is all about playfulness and freedom, gaining confidence, testing what feels good to you and being brave!
I don’t have a lot of art supplies. Will I need to spend hundreds of dollars on a canvas, paints and brushes?
No! You can definitely make beautiful art even if you’re not buying premium art supplies. For your canvas, you can choose a less expensive quality to start with, or you can use an inexpensive wood panel from the DIY store, or any substrate you like. Other than that, you can use all your favorite supplies and tools that you already use for art journaling!
I’m an experienced artist. Will there be anything I can learn from this class?
Absolutely! From Page To Canvas is designed to help you take your art to the next level! If you already love mixed media painting and art journaling, this class will renew your inspiration with fresh techniques and possibilities! As in all my classes, I share my authentic process and my favorite, tried-and-true techniques, artist to artist.
This special class will also help you deepen your creative voice and make art that’s more unique and meaningful than ever.

I’m a self-taught artist and a certified creativity coach, and I teach in a heart-centered, non-academic way. You’ll see me in action and will be guided to explore your own world, inside and out. I also offer plenty of creative tips and strategies to make your practice unique, overcome your blocks and challenge yourself to gently expand your comfort zone.
To know if a class will be the right fit for you, trust your intuition. If it feels exciting and stirs your curiosity, if it resonates in a way that feels really good, that feels like joy, like home, or like a big good sigh and a smile... then it most certainly is for you. Let your inner artist guide you!

If, on the other hand, you’re looking only for technical instructions, or for an academic class where you submit work and get detailed feedback and critique, then this is not the right place.
If you’re not comfortable with words like soul, intuition, intention, mindfulness, affirmation, magic, or if seeing me draw an oracle card for inspiration makes you cringe… then my classes are probably not for you.
When in doubt, I encourage you to start with one of my free lessons to see if my teaching style resonates with you. Please note that refunds will not be made after registration for a paid class.

My classes are e-courses, hosted online, and members get an individual, private account to access all their classes on my teaching platform.
All classes are self-study and self-paced. They’re not academic classes. There are no assignments to submit, no grades, no schedule, no certificates of completion, no live conferences. There’s no schedule to comply with, no “catching up” or “falling behind”, ever. They’re simply a space of freedom and creativity for you to explore and enjoy.
Most classes have lifetime access (as per our terms of service, "lifetime" means for the lifetime of the program). The videos are pre-recorded, so you can watch them at your own pace, whenever you want, and as many times as you wish. It’s up to you to find the rhythm that suits you best. Make time regularly to complete your course. It’s a gift you’re giving yourself!

For most of my classes, you get lifetime access to the classroom and videos. "Lifetime" technically means for the lifetime of the program. If we were to retire a course (which so far has never happened), we’d give you several months' notice so you have plenty of time to complete the lessons. You can watch the videos within the classroom as often and as many times as you wish.
To protect the integrity of our content (and all the work that went into creating it) the videos are not downloadable. Therefore, before signing up, please make sure that your internet connection allows you to smoothly stream high-resolution videos online. Refunds will not be made after registration.
